We’ve always been thrilled with how the Dribbble community loves to get together in person. Dribbble Meetups have long been a physical manifestation of the personal and professional connections made on the site, attended each year by thousands of designers worldwide.

What are Dribbble Meetups?

Dribbble Meetups are a chance for designers to socialize, talk shop, and foster their local design communities. They are self-organized events that range from the casual, five-person, coffee-shop roundtable to the chef-catered, bar-tended, 200-person extravaganza—it’s up to you.

Goodbye Meetup.com, Hello dribbble.com/meetups

We’ve been using Meetup.com’s “Everywhere” platform the past few years, but two things have happened:

  1. Meetups have become so important to us that we’ve brought them in house. You can now find all upcoming meetups at dribbble.com/meetups. You’ll also notice we’ve added Meetups as a top level nav item, and have plans for deeper integration into the app going forward.
  2. Meetup.com is shutting down “Everywhere” on December 1st. This made us escalate efforts to finish #1.

Host a Dribbble Meetup!

Interested in hosting a Dribbble Meetup? Great! We’ve set up a basic form at Dribbble to get you started in the new era. We’re still tweaking, but when you’re signed in, you’ll see a link from the new meetups page.

In terms of hosting meetup detatils and RSVPs, we’ve partnered with our friends at nvite to provide simple, beautiful meetup pages.

We love nvite and find it to be the best way to promote and organize your meetup, while at the same time providing a visually-stunning record of the event after it happens. They’ve even gone to great lengths in customizing the look and feel of the event pages to provide a more Dribbble-y experience, and we’re looking forward to working with them going forward!
