In celebration, we’re teaming up with Threadless:

  • To create a Dribbble Artist Shop.
  • To get you early access to Artist Shops.
  • To host a seven-round playoff with prizes. For those unfamiliar with our Playoffs, someone (in this case Threadless) creates a shot. Anyone in the Dribbble community can riff on the theme with their own shot. Group rebounding, if you will.
  • To throw a celebration of this partnership on Wednesday, September 16 at Threadless in Chicago.

The Details

What’s an Artist Shop?

To make selling your art easier, Threadless is launching Artist Shops this fall. You set up a store, design your products, set your prices, earn your money. Threadless handles the printing, the shipping, the customer service, the sales reporting. Cost? Wait for it … FREE!

Can I sign up now?

You can, because you’re a Dribbbler. Everyone else has to wait until the fall. Reserve your shop now and Threadless will double your first $1,000 in earnings. Free shop. Free money.

How do I enter this awesome playoff?
  1. Reserve your Artist Shop.
  2. Rebound the shot below with your best designs.
  3. Mock it up on any Artist Shop product (T-shirt, hoodie, phone case, wall art).
  4. Only one design per shot. You can create multiple products (e.g. a t-shirt and a phone case) bearing your design, and highlight them all in one shot, but only one design per shot.
  5. You may rebound multiple times, with multiple designs.

The contest will run through November 1, and will be divided into seven two-week rounds. The first round begins NOW and ends at the end of the day Sunday, August 9. Dribbble and Threadless will choose one winner per round. Winners will be announced approximately one week later. We will kick off each new two-week round with a blog post at Dribbble as well as mention in our Weekly Replay and on social media.

Judges will not be taking a shot’s popularity, AKA “likes,” into account. We will be sharing a few entries each week via social media. Similarly, judges will not be taking into account Twitter and Facebook “likes.”

Are there prizes?

Of course! Every two weeks starting today and ending November 1, Dribbble and Threadless will choose a new winner to receive:

  • Early access to launch their Artist Shop
  • $1000 cash
  • Individual shop promotion from Dribbble and Threadless
  • Did you hear the part about the cash?
What’s this about a Chicago Meetup?

To celebrate the first half of the playoff, and get you even more hyped up for the second half, Threadless is hosting a Dribbble Meetup on September 16. In addition to a room full of awesome Chicago designers, Threadless promises live drawing contests, Artist Shop tutorials, and a Periscope feed of the event. The last Threadless + Dribbble meetup was epic. More September details coming soon.

Will your new Artist Shop replace your current Equipment Shop?

Nope! We’ll still be running our Equipment Shop. Our Threadless Artist Shop will feature equally amazing but totally different designs including the Ampersandwich fluffernutter, our pal Dribbbot, and the return of an old favorite by Jon Contino.

No more questions. Get designing!
